Guest Xenzo1990 Posted June 11, 2005 Report Posted June 11, 2005 Right, this can either be a mis-configuration or a hardware defect. You need to goto (on your smartphone) Start -> Settings -> Data Connections. Verify that Internet Connection is set to '[Network Provider] GPRS'. Now hit the right softkey onto the menu and click edit connections. Go down to GPRS connections and select '[Network Provider] GPRS'. You will see infront of you a list of settings. Your best bet is to ring up your network provider and ask them to verify your GPRS Connection settings. These could also be found on your network provider's FAQs on their website. Good Luck.

Guest Xenzo1990 Posted June 11, 2005 Report Posted June 11, 2005 You spoke to your network provider? What did they say? If you got all the settings verified then looks like its a problem with the phone's hardware.

Guest magical_trevor Posted June 11, 2005 Report Posted June 11, 2005 Are you trying to use a WAP connection to view normal (http://www...) pages? You need to make sure you are using GPRS, and that it is set to connect to the internet, NOT the WAP network

The problem might be that you need to use a proxy connection with the WAP APN. Do you know what your networks WAP proxy address is ? You should be able to get this from your other phone. Try adding a proxy connection to your phone. Connects from: The Internet Connects to: WAP Network Proxy (name, port): xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8080 (replace x's with WAP proxy address) Type HTTP In data connections set your GPRS connection to the WAP connection. In Internet Explorer untick 'auto detect settings' and make 'Select Network: WAP network' Hopefully it should work ;)
