Guest jberriman Posted June 11, 2005 Report Posted June 11, 2005 My first post, great site, so much info! So I got the C500 from Orange and it *was* working great. I was syncing with Outlook (contacts, tasks and calender), getting reminders for diary entries etc, no problems. Then after about 3 days it stopped giving calendar reminders (although there were still set). At the same time it also stopped telling me about new voice mails (no notification or little symbol). It all seemed very strange so with the help of this site I did a hard reset and re-sync'd all my data. Instantly everything started working again and I was getting the usual 15min reminders and voice mail alerts - but only for a few more days until it suddenly stopped ! Three hard resets later and it's still the same, it works for a few days before everything stops. I've checked outlook and reminders are set, data is sync'ing ok etc. I've kept everything as vanilla as possible, no changes to settings, no extra software on the device but it still keeps breaking after a few days ! Am I going mad here or has anybody else seen this issue ? I've spoken to Orange and they have no idea, now I'm sot sure what to do as the phone is pretty much useless if it doesn't tell me I've got a meeting to attend. Any help that can be offered would be much appreciated ! Jason
Guest yoos Posted June 11, 2005 Report Posted June 11, 2005 Never had the voicemail problem, but the reminder problem happens to me every so often. There is another topic on that somewhere here in MoDaCo and a solution that someone came up with was to change your phones time by one minute. For some reason if you just change your phone time by one minute the reminders start working again.
Guest jberriman Posted June 11, 2005 Report Posted June 11, 2005 thanks for the info, i'll try the one minute thing. does anybody think it's worth asking Orange for a new phone or do you think this is a generic issue ?
Guest jberriman Posted June 11, 2005 Report Posted June 11, 2005 the one minute time change seems to have done the trick, thanks for the tip. Does this mean this is a new bug for the C500 ?
