I've not actually had my hands on either but I don't think there are any major differences apart from form-factor.

THe easiest way to transfer Contacts is by syncing with Outlook.

Yeah, I received my 5600 a few days ago and I must say I like many features, but I miss some of the 220's. And, I really hate the size of the phone, it's just too small. Trying to IM is a pain in the hind quarters.

I just converted over today (220-->5600). The size has been a huge change for me. However having a phone that I can hear the people I am talking to, and also being able to actually answer the phone has been a huge plus. ;)

The scrolling button is going to take some getting use to as well. The camera is a ton better.

Also syncing contacts was a breeze. I transferred 485 contacts with 3 numbers each, and addresses in about 30 seconds via my Outlook and Activesync.

I will miss my 220's stylish flip design but I cannot wait around for it to work like it should...
