Microsoft use C500's with WM5

I'm sorry if this is old news, I did have a look first!

Anyway, I recently attended the MEDC 2005 Highlights event at Microsoft in Reading. All device demonstrations during the sessions used C500's running WM2005. I was too far away to see which resolution it was using!

There was no carrier on the phone, but I guess this guarantees that WM2005 WILL run on a C500, though I'm well aware theres 0.1% chance of Orange releasing a ROM.

I wonder if theres a big enough pool of interest now for a completely illegal WM2005 ROM to find itself onto the web...

...of course a man with my reputation could never use such a ROM... honest...

Yes, a build of WM5 exists for Typhoon.

It is actually heavily coded to be specific to each device, and in addition, is designed for the Audiovox SMT5600 variants (with 850 radio) and so wouldn't work on a C500.

I think there would be more chance orange releasing one for the c550 when its out. If they were to tell us there were definatly going to, I would 100% buy the c550 as soon as it came out. But to be honest I dont think they will. They could make alot more money. But somehow they dont want to.

Paul, Zone-MR has it running on a C500, not an SMT5600. (although I don't know if the radio function works or not).

erm there is no official release... but people have got hold of it.. thats all i am saying
