Guest Xenzo1990 Posted June 12, 2005 Report Posted June 12, 2005 Well, I installed Activesync 4.0 the other day. I want to install PocketDOS, but the installer isn't compatable with it. So Im trying to revert back to 3.8. All goes to plan, i restart create new partnership and then it wont sync, and I cant open the main activesync window. When I double click the icon or goto the programs menu i just cant open it up. To make things worse, in My Computer under mobile device, I try to get into the phone and it tells me it cannot be accessed. Ive tried:- Restarting Uninstalling reinstalling of activesync (both versions) Deleting the partnership and readding (In AS 4) Changing USB ports Changing USB cables. I just dont know what to do. I really annoyed, typical microsoft.
Guest lsuui Posted August 21, 2005 Report Posted August 21, 2005 Any luck in working this out? I have exactly the same problem and have even tried redtoring my computer to before I first installed active sync. Sorry I'm of no help but if you have solved it could you let me know? Aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [email protected] Thanks James
Guest Confucious Posted August 22, 2005 Report Posted August 22, 2005 AS4 isn't out yet - it's Beta software. So it's Microsoft's fault that someone else's install program isn't compatable with it? The whole point of Beta software is that it is there to find bugs so you shouldn't be suprised when you do find them. Have you had a look here http://www.modaco.com/Warning_Activesync_4...ms-t206702.html
Guest lsuui Posted August 24, 2005 Report Posted August 24, 2005 Have you had a look here http://www.modaco.com/Warning_Activesync_4...ms-t206702.html <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thankyou! Had to delete the .dll files after removing activesync 3.8 and delete the Microsoft Active Syns Folder in Program Files then installed 3.8 and it worked. Gosh some people are clever. Thanks so much for taking the time to reply.
Guest Confucious Posted August 24, 2005 Report Posted August 24, 2005 It's what the forum is for - there are some very clever people out there- I'm not one of them I just remembered reading about it ;) Just noticed you posted your email address in your previous post - you might like to edit it and remove that, you shouldn't post email addresses, if you do adapt it so it can't be read by a machine by, for example, using the word at instead of @ there are "robots" that trawl the internet looking for email addresses and then you will find your inbox flooded with SPAM. Glad you got your problem sorted. :)
