Guest beersoft Posted June 12, 2005 Report Posted June 12, 2005 just a quick guide this time, but some of you seem to need help on making your posts stand the test of time popular with posts relating to things that people are testing, or have just been announced "can i get this for my phone" and "when are 'operator' going to release this?" and not forgetting "if the new phone doesn't come with this its going to suck" now, the generalisation that everything that doesn't have the latest and greatest OS is going to suck is STUPID but thats a different guide that i haven't published yet other moronic statements to make are "where can i download this, im cheap/a thief" - common in news posts about new apps, scores highly on the stupidscale "download whateverapp - full version here" - a nice way to get the forum version of a sackbeating and things like ip addresses and other registration details forwarded to the software company you just ripped off "where can i get the latest rom for 'othervendors phone'" - always shows up in any post about new roms and is friendly with this type of post "how do i upgrade my a-phone to b-rom?" i dont suppose you read the EULA that comes with the rom update and is in the back of the bookoclues, basicly your not allowed by law to use someone elses rom as you havent been granted a licence to use it on your device, so dont take offence if we don't help you break the law so keep those foolish thoughts inside your head and dont post them later Owen "sick of seeing posts asking about getting hold of leaked and test roms"
Guest Chaser81 Posted June 12, 2005 Report Posted June 12, 2005 ;) :D ;) Another fine addition to Beersoft's soon-to-be-published "Acting like a moron on a forum - an idiot's guide"!
Guest beersoft Posted June 12, 2005 Report Posted June 12, 2005 hehehe i try my best ;) i all hope your going to buy my other books "beerys guide to practical parenting: getting child services to look after your kids" and the best seller "drinking, being in public and how to get arrested" later Owen
Guest Sp00k Posted June 27, 2005 Report Posted June 27, 2005 hehehe i all hope your going to buy my other books.... Personally, I can hardly wait for your "Dummies Guide to Grammer, Punktuation and Speling" to appear on the bookshelves... Commented Sp00k, innocently... :?:
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted June 27, 2005 Report Posted June 27, 2005 Amusing tho beerys guides are, anyone else think they're somewhat patronising? :| P
Guest Confused Stu Posted June 27, 2005 Report Posted June 27, 2005 I prefer the term "over the top" and "exaggerated" to "patronising". I can see how they could be taken that way, and I'm still amazed none of them have attracted flaming to match the Great Fire of London. They still make me laugh though, so I guess I can't really complain about them too much.
Guest beersoft Posted June 27, 2005 Report Posted June 27, 2005 there supposed to be like that :D (thats over the top and funny) i so dislike documentation and the writing of it and hopfuly cleverly worded so it doesn't turn into a pick on beersoft thread as always there is no offence ment, and the tongue is firmly in cheek :) later Owen
Guest chucky.egg Posted June 28, 2005 Report Posted June 28, 2005 I love 'em They are vaguely insulting, but that's why I love 'em None of us really mind the stupid questions, we were all new once, but the "I'm cheap/a thief" ones and the "I stole software, fecked up installing it, now you lot help me" ones are getting to me lately Oh and Beery, get your tongue out of my cheeks!
Guest drblow Posted June 28, 2005 Report Posted June 28, 2005 I would be too embarrassed to go to a forum, admit that I had installed something I shouldn't & ask for help to fix it! But if I did have to, I would at least expect a little friendly abuse from the punters! :) See that's the problem with the world these days ... people just get upset too easy. :D Even with all the latest WM5 problem threads, my pet hate is still when people don't use a ? in the title, leading me to read threads expecting to see a great new product/game/revelation, when actually it's just yet another person asking if it's available. Haven't seen any requests for TV remote apps lately tho, so maybe Beerys guides are working!?
Guest Confused Stu Posted June 28, 2005 Report Posted June 28, 2005 Cool DrBlow - can you really get your phone acting as a remote control then?!?! :)
Guest chucky.egg Posted June 28, 2005 Report Posted June 28, 2005 Hey that'd be neat! Anyone have a link for any illegal downloads of remote control software
Guest nickcornaglia Posted July 8, 2005 Report Posted July 8, 2005 "beerys guide to practical parenting: getting child services to look after your kids" Classic! :)
