Guest Big_Dogg123 Posted June 13, 2005 Report Posted June 13, 2005 I've installed the new update and overall I like the subtle changes, notably WMP 10. My only problem (and it's small) is that I have to enter a track title in the properties of each music file before I transfer it to the phone. With WMP 9, the name that appeared for each track was just the file's name, but with WMP 10, it actually uses the track title in the properties of the file. When I transfered all my music onto my MiniSD card after the ROM update, half of the track titles were "Track 1", "Track 4" etc. Does anyone know of a quick solution to renaming the files, or changing the WMP to display the file name, instead of the "Track title". It's annoying having to check through all of the tracks' properties to edit ones that aren't set correctly. Even if there was a way to edit the appropriate property on the phone itself would be much easier, as I could edit it as I found incorrect ones. It appears that you can only view the properties of each track, but not edit them on the phone. As always, any reply would be much appreciated, Cheers, Big Dogg
Guest celica1.8st Posted June 14, 2005 Report Posted June 14, 2005 I noticed the same, but at least it's using a standard and sticking to it. I guess we've just got to go through and put in all the tags. I just took all the albums off which didn't have tags and replaced them with some others! (not exactly ideal!) I used to have a program for my MP3 player which could quickly write tags. It would do batches so you could apply the same artist to all the tracks at once and that sort of thing, but there must be some kind of program which can get the tags from the internet. I'm sure if I want to write the ones that come up as track1 track2 etc to a HIFI CD using Nero it fetches all the details from the web - I think?? :??:
Guest Arktouros Posted June 14, 2005 Report Posted June 14, 2005 (edited) I suppose that you want to change the ID3 tag... There are batch renaming progs with ccdb access and most of them are free and open source on pc. I suppose the easyest way is to download the tracks on your pc mass rename the ID3 tags and re-upload them. If you google it you ll find quite a few programs... Hope it helps. ;) Edited June 14, 2005 by Arktouros

Guest furby Posted June 14, 2005 Report Posted June 14, 2005 where can i find this rom? or isnt any one allowed to say as its not official? i cant find it anywhere! :?: <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Pretty sure you can't ask, the forum deems it as warez ( I don't agree). And yes, it is hard to find isn't it.
Guest Big_Dogg123 Posted June 14, 2005 Report Posted June 14, 2005 Can't find any free ID3 tag editors.
Guest James Posted June 14, 2005 Report Posted June 14, 2005 I Use iTunes to edit any track information.
Guest celica1.8st Posted June 14, 2005 Report Posted June 14, 2005 (edited) Totally off the topic I hear that Newsgroups are very good for finding files which are difficult to find. You can get a free 3 day trial with most of the decent newsgroup providers and if you get Newsleecher, you can use Supersearch to find even the hardest files. You could also use a site like newzbin.com to find files. Please only use the above tip to find legal files ;) Edited June 14, 2005 by celica1.8st
