Guest gavinchappell Posted June 14, 2005 Report Posted June 14, 2005 My SPV C500 just "hard reset" itself on me! It had frozen up, with my background pic stretched, and no response from any keys. I took the battery off, put it back on again and restarted the phone. I get a "Cold boot config" screen, and am prompted to reset. I do so, and it reboots with Orange default homescreen and settings (ie key clicks). All my software has been "removed" (ie the files are there on my SD card, but they're no longer registered in Remove Programs), but all my text messages and IMAP emails are still there? What on earth just happened? I appear to have got a "lukewarm" reset or something, but has anyone had this before, and what caused it? I only have Smart Explorer and Smart Task Manager installed so I don't think it was caused by a rogue phone app or anything! Maybe it was removing the battery that did it, but I've had to do that before in the past when the phone has frozen and I've never had this problem!
Guest drblow Posted June 14, 2005 Report Posted June 14, 2005 Similar thing happened to me a while back! Weird! Never did get a rational explaination. Just do a proper hard reset, that'll sort it. ;)
Guest gavinchappell Posted June 14, 2005 Report Posted June 14, 2005 Can't be bothered to hard reset, it's working and my app shortcuts etc are still there. Will wait for the new ROM (whenever it actually, officially arrives) and wipe then. Till then, daily backups with Jeyo are the order of the day I think ;)
