mpx220 microphone mic doesnt work! help plz!

HI,

i have a black mpx 220 thats ive been using for nearly 8 months and just recently the microphone on the phone is weak. in other words when i am on the phone the person cant hear me unless i put my mouth close to the mic and yell.

i do have registery program on the phone and i was wondering if theres a way that i can change the value of the mic to make it stronger.

i have already hard reset the phone 3 times and tryed updating it to the latest firmware and that didnt work,

it does have the latest firmware.

please let me know what to do,

i called motorola and they said to send it in but they dont have my IMEI in there database and chances are since they dont have it in there database they wont fix it.
