Guest Big_Dogg123 Posted June 14, 2005 Report Posted June 14, 2005 How do I simply replace the Orange startup image? I tried the obvious, which was to replace the image in the Windows folder. This failed. I was going to make a new theme altogether, but Ruttensoft costs money, which unfortunately, I have none of, at the minute. LOL. If anyone knows a simple way just to replace the Orange startup image, I'd greatly appreciate it. Cheers, Big Dogg

Cheers, Big Dogg <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I don't know anything about Orange, but if its smartphone 2003SE based you can do this 2 different ways. Download my attachment and copy it over to your phone along with what ever files you want to use for your boot up/shutdown screens. You can use up to four different ones. Run the program from file manager and type in the paths for each picture you want to use. I recommend a short folder name and short file names. Example \Storage\Boot\Pic1.jpg Then save info after typing them in. Here are a few pics I made you can use if you want. Just right click and save. The other way is to go into the registry with either Smartione or PHMRegEdit. and change the pics that way. The key is at HKLocalMachine/Softwar/Microsoft/SplashScreen. Just type in the location of what files you what to use. Also their are some time length settings here. If you what your phone to shutoff real fast you can change these number to a lower one. I have mine settings at 5000 which is 5 seconds. I like my shutdown screens so I enjoy looking at them when I reboot/shutdown.ScreenChanger.exe
Guest cold_fire Posted June 15, 2005 Report Posted June 15, 2005 I don't know anything about Orange, but if its smartphone 2003SE based you can ... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Can u remove the first stratup screen the one with Orange ?I tried and i can not replace only 2 startup and 2 shutdown screens but not the first Orange startup logo ,any ideas ?
Guest Big_Dogg123 Posted June 15, 2005 Report Posted June 15, 2005 (edited) Yeah, Its an SPV C500 (WM2003SE). I tried the program on the phone, just changing the 1st Boot screen, but no joy. I'll try replacing all the screens and see if it works. Cheers for the response! PS - You wouldn't happen to know if you can add a sound to be played on startup, such as someone saying "Welcome", for example. Edited June 15, 2005 by Big_Dogg123
Guest Big_Dogg123 Posted June 15, 2005 Report Posted June 15, 2005 Tried changing all of the screens there. But still no joy... When the phone boots up, it shows the 1st Orange image, but not a 2nd image. This would suggest that maybe I've made a mistake when I entered the location of the image. I currently have the images on my MiniSD card. I'll try doing it on the phone's storage this time.
Guest Big_Dogg123 Posted June 15, 2005 Report Posted June 15, 2005 Success! I placed the image in my \Storage area on the phone and it worked! The only image that didn't change was the 1st Boot screen, but I'm not bothered by that! Cheers m8! BTW, those images you tried to post above ^ didn't work. I'd like to see them if ya get a chance to get it sorted! Cheers again!
Guest spazzwig Posted June 15, 2005 Report Posted June 15, 2005 To do a startup sound I believe the key your looking for is: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sounds\SystemStart It's set to *none* by default on my phone. Haven't tested it but certainly looks like it should do the trick.
Guest Big_Dogg123 Posted June 15, 2005 Report Posted June 15, 2005 Alright, cheers m8. I'll try that when I get around to it.
