C500 GPRS/Modem via bluetooth

I'm trying to use my SPV C500 as a bluetooth modem to connect to the internet with my Sharp Zaurus SL-5500 (Linux based PDA).

I can get the phone and the PDA to "pair" via bluetooth, but the phone won't connect the GPRS and the PDA is stuck saying "initialising modem"

I am on Orange UK and using the instructions for IPAQ dial up networking in this thread I set up the the Dial up details on the Zaurus.

To confirm, I had set the dial-up details correctly, I dug out my old Nokia 6310i and tried that.... The PDA pairs with the Nokia and connects the GPRS fine....

I am using the Bluez drivers for bluetooth under linux, and this gives a command (sdptool browse) that lets you search for bluetooth devices and the services they provide. The Nokia provides the required MAC address and the bluetooth channel for dial up networking (Channel 1 on the 6310i). When this command is run, the SPV C500 only returns its MAC address, with no channel details. (You need to provide the channel number to the Bluez drivers for it to work correctly I believe.)

Does anyone know which channel the SPVc500 uses for Bluetooth Dial-up networking or have any other suggestions which will help me get the devices to work together?

You can use:

sdptool search --bdaddr 00:00:00:00:00:00 DUN (00:00:00:00:00:00 is your phone addr)

to find out what the chcnnel of your phone is

I cant cat my phone working, its connecting but then i dont now know what to to next. I want to internet on my qtec 8020 via the bluetooth connection. I can ping it etc with l2ping

Anybody have an idee ?
