I just purchased an Audiovox SMT 5600 because of some rave reviews from friends. The look and feel of it is great. However, Cingular customer servide knows even less about this phone than I do. I'm trying to get hold of another manual (missing CD) but until then, I have a few questions:

1. I have a Palm IIIc (OS 2.0). Does anyone know of any good 3rd party software for conversion of calendar and contacts to import to Outlook so I can sync it with the 5600? If I can do this once, I'll just stop using the Palm, but I'd prefer to not have to enter everything all over again.

2. I have a custom ringtone that I beamed over from my old phone. It's there because I can play it from the 'my sounds' folder. However, I'd like to set this up as my voice mail ringtone. When I try to associate it, it's not there. Are ringtones for VM in a different location than other ones? Also, any suggestions about sites for good tones for this phone?

3. Yesterday, I got activesync to work and it synced with my hotmail account. However, it synced in the 200 or so email addresses I have and now my contacts page is overwhelming. Any way to undo this or better organize?

4. Any way to get rid of that annoying little background attached to incoming calls AND keep a photo ID?

Thanks.

First. Manual for SMT5600 can be found here http://www.phonedog.com/cellphone-research...ser-manual.aspx

Second. Check and make sure ringtone is a sound file that can be used. Limited to WAV, MIDI, and WMA.

Hope this helps.
