Guest jvo8 Posted June 15, 2005 Report Posted June 15, 2005 My phone is unlocked and now runs on the Cingular network. When I first migrated over from ATT from Cing. everything was fine. But now for some reason, the large "G" icon is no longer appearing on the top. Does this mean I'm not on the GSM network? Does it affect my signal strength or voice quality? Thanks.
Guest Confused Stu Posted June 15, 2005 Report Posted June 15, 2005 The big "G" at the top of the screen indicates that GPRS is available at the moment. If GPRS is currently active, then the little mast symbol in the top right (with the signal strength) changes to a little G. At least, that's the case with my C500. Should be the same with the Audiovox. It doesn't affect calls or voice quality, just how the phone accesses data calls (e.g. internet).
