Guest flyswat Posted June 15, 2005 Report Posted June 15, 2005 (edited) Does any know how much Orange (UK) are charging for their 3G service for personal using one of their 3G phones. I have had a look on their website but can only find details for using their mobile office card, which is somewhat dearer than using GPRS. At what rate is data charged? Apologies if this is in the wrong forum (and a stupid question), though it does sort of relate to smartphones. Orange are not going to get too many customers on their 3G service if they don't make it clear what their prices are. thanks for your help. Edit: it looks like it is £2.35 per meg outside a bundle. Could this be correct? THat would mean multimedia services are going to be extremely expensive? Edited June 15, 2005 by flyswat
Guest Tunney Posted June 16, 2005 Report Posted June 16, 2005 (edited) I've got a Nokia 6680 3G smartphone on Orange. I get 1GB of free data for the first 3 months and then it's charged at 50p/MB after that. Quite a good deal. ;) If you sign up for a multimedia service like the TV stations they're offering, the data used for that service isn't charged. Edited June 16, 2005 by Tunney
Guest chucky.egg Posted June 16, 2005 Report Posted June 16, 2005 WTF! I was told that data charges, after the 1Gb promo ends was £1.50/Mb. I even asked them to confirm it (so he asked his mate in the shop) and that's why I turned it down.
Guest Tunney Posted June 16, 2005 Report Posted June 16, 2005 I got told 50p. I haven't actually been billed for any data yet though, since I'm still within the first 3 months. Why can't they make these things more transparent? ;)
