I've posted some instructions a while back to dismante a C500. They're an attachment on this page:

Also, there's some really good instructions on this site too:

Which bit's actually got the problem on the phone? Might be able to offer some targeted advice if you can give us a description or picture?

Good luck dude.

Basically the top part of the phone seems to be coming away near the power button. I want to get in to see wheter something has become disloged etc and try to close up the gap (sound like a doctor) heres a picture of where i mean but its a poor pic so ive just circled the area:)

Looks like the gap is between the silver outside and the FRONT of the phone. If this is the case, then it is a problem because that part should be held in place by a few clips and a Torx screw.

If your phone has any kind of warranty then I really would advise trying to claim on it. If you haven't got any warranty then go ahead and strip the phone down! ;)

If it was just the clips holding it in place I'd say to just force it back but the screw has me worried. Try getting the top, back cover off the phone and see what's happening with the screws behind it. It's the trickiest part of the whole operation and my advice is to try levering off cover by the silver strip with the camera lens before removing it from the power button top. Not sure how you'd go about this on a pristine phone because mine has a very handy dent in just the right place to get leverage.

Anyone able to offer advice on any other ways to get the top back cover off?
