Guest grinny11 Posted June 17, 2005 Report Posted June 17, 2005 i am really confused as to why it doesn't work. maybe it's because its for the c500 only. but looking at this link http://msmobiles.com/news.php/3848.html there is one for the audiovox.
Guest sx125 Posted June 17, 2005 Report Posted June 17, 2005 Put your phone into boorloader and run the first UK update. Normal you can go back easy this way good luck i am really confused as to why it doesn't work. maybe it's because its for the c500 only. but looking at this link http://msmobiles.com/news.php/3848.html there is one for the audiovox. <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Guest spvdk Posted June 17, 2005 Report Posted June 17, 2005 WM2005 does indeed run on the Typhoon, but only a select few. The ROM is paired with these and won't run on a normal Typhoon. MS are getting wise to the idea of ROM copying, so they have protected this one rather well...

Guest Seraphic Posted June 18, 2005 Report Posted June 18, 2005 (edited) Did you find this on P2P? I would like to try it on my C500. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's unlikely it'll work and even if it does it really isn't worth it to be honest. My advice is to stick to the 4.2.1.1 rom until a decent version gets leaked. Edited June 18, 2005 by Seraphic
Guest beersoft Posted June 18, 2005 Report Posted June 18, 2005 im sure its been said before, but leaked roms can break your phone and a friendly reminder, no asking how or where to get said leaked roms later Owen
Guest Zone-MR Posted June 18, 2005 Report Posted June 18, 2005 (edited) When MS employees request WM5, they are required to provide their phone's IMEI, and get a custom ROM which only works with their phone. The device authentication message indicates a mismatch between the IMEI the ROM was keyed to, and the IMEI on your phone. I don't know how you obtained the copy you have. Either you obtained it legitimatly and mistyped your IMEI in the request form, in which case simply go through the same proceedure again, type the correct IMEI, and flash the new BIN file using mtty. If, however, you are not authorized to use WM5, and you somehow got a copy of someone else's ROM without knowing about the protection, I'm afraid you're rather stuck. The protection is very weak (hint: devauth.exe), but it would be against the rules of this forum for me to tell you how to patch it. If you can't figure it out yourself, I guess you shouldn't be messing with ROMs you know nothing about ;) Some things I can clarify: 1) The Typhoon build of WM5 does work on both the C500 and SMT5600 - so that's not the problem. 2) The bootloader you have (1.01.109) is semi-borked. It won't accept most NBF files and SD backups. If you could boot WM5, you could flash a different bootloader via typhoonnbftools. Since you can't, I'm afriad there's nothing that can be done. Sorry.
