Was on the phone to orange and she said the system says June. Also said the store would know before they would as the store has in on theire "incomming stock" report! Niiiiice... Any one work in a store? 2. What I did forget top ask was... Is there a black version comming out? As nice as it looks in silver, I've always prefered black with crome and not crome with black.. Ooo get me being all picky! Also quick Question.. 3. Which smart phones have touch screens? Catch you all soon! Oh, and stop fussing about the Orange upgrade btw... Now there's the leak of WM.5.0 out... go find that! Dont waste resources on the upgrade [mm WMP big woop]! Go for the bigger fish! *waits for flamming*
Guest chucky.egg Posted June 17, 2005 Report Posted June 17, 2005 C550 delivery date is still guesswork ATM, until there is official word from O I wouldn't count too much on the "my mate at Orange says it's out tuesday" posts Dunno about a black version, but I agree with you Smartphones don't have touchscreens, that's part of the spec, but you can get very small PPC Phones (like the iMate JAM) which have touchscreen in an almost-as-small size Personally not overly interested in the next ROM (only WMP10 in it AFAICT) nor in WM5 on my C500

Guest hamstar50 Posted June 17, 2005 Report Posted June 17, 2005 Today I provided some IT support to the company that does the marketing for Orange and saw all the promotional work...It was all dated July 2005...no specific day. Was nice to see all the markieting material though. Not that great a phone really. I saw the dummy model they had and a play. Just the like C500 with the latest MP10 ROM (that's already leaked for C500). I certainly won't be upgrading...waiting for the Samsung SCH-i300. Now that's a daddy phone.. Sweet camera, 3GB Hard Disk and scroll wheel, Windows Mobile 5 and everything! Probably the best Windows Mobile phone when it comes out (without going into PDA stylee things).

Go for the bigger fish! *waits for flamming* *sSword locks n loads his electro-bastard-napalm gun* The upgrade to WM2005 is not the same as the 4.2.1.1 ROM upgrade The ROM will fix multipress issue on the C500, not just give us WMP10 I hear WM2005 does not work well on the C500 as it was never intended for this model. correct me if im wrong.. ;)

Might just get and upgrade sell my C500 and the upgrade phone and get a flash smartphone off ebay! Or I guess I could just stay with the C500 untill a REALLY decent phone comes out on orange. Which I doubt. What's everyone else waiting for. I dont use my phone for Mp3's anymore as I drive most places with the old cd player on, so i guess that makes the whole point of the C550 redaundant. If you in the same boat, what are you looking forward to?
