Guest darrellr Posted June 19, 2005 Report Posted June 19, 2005 (edited) I bought one of these dual SIM devices. Chopped up two SIMS as per instructions and tried it in my C500. Unfortunately no new menu appeared and it didn't seem to work on the O2 SIM. I tested it in my Nokia 6320i and a new menu appeared "Dual SIM" and allowed the SIM to be selected but still can't get O2 SIM to work. Eventually I worked out that I could 'toggle' SIMS by using the 'flight mode' function on my C500. However still only the Orange SIM woked as normal. When switching to the O2 SIM I got no network (or SIM refused if I reversed the position of the 2 SIMS in the holder). The kit comes with a pair of "recovery" SIM holders that allow the chopped up SIM to be used as normal again so no great problem there I'm back using my works O2 SIM on it's own again. So the Question is has anyone else done this with an O2 SIM and got it to work? Could it be I've damaged the O2 SIM in a subtle fashion that allows it to continue as a normal SIM but fail in a dual SIM holder? :??: Edited June 19, 2005 by darrellr
Guest removed-2 Posted June 28, 2005 Report Posted June 28, 2005 Hi, I am guessing that you need to perform the network unlock to get this working on the o2 card - by default orange phones are restricted to orange networks only. This is a thread somewhere on this site that tells you how to do it - someone has provided a feww utility. Can you tell me where you got your dual sim device from as I am interested in doing this?? Guest BishPDA Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 Got exactly the same problem with M500. Can get new menu if I put in a Nokia, but get same problem as above, but my sims are both Orange one is PAYG and one contract. Anyone got any ideas??
Guest artyom Posted April 7, 2006 Report Posted April 7, 2006 but my sims are both Orange one is PAYG and one contract. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> i think that it has something to do with the two sim cards being different, i.e. PAYG and contract, i think that you can put a PAYG sim into a contract phone but you can't but a contract sim into a PAYG phone althought i am not 100% sure on this. anyone know any more about this?
