Guest sveben Posted June 19, 2005 Report Posted June 19, 2005 Hi all! Im a proud owner of Qtek 8020 Windows Mobile Smartphone 2003 Second Edition. Ive been looking for software to be able to make calls on my mobile phone from my dekstop computer while it is synced. Best of all if the application would responde to the callto: function and also display incoming calls on my desktop. Is this applicatoin aviable? Can I configure my mobile phone or desktop in any way to do this? What do you reccomend? Any advice appreciated. Regards, Sveinn Benediktsson ICELAND
Guest tendomentis Posted June 20, 2005 Report Posted June 20, 2005 To my knowledge, this isn't even possible. When in ActiveSync mode, your computer doesn't even have access to the audio or radio hardware on your smartphone. The most I've ever been able to see done desktop to smartphone is set up Outlook to use your phone to send text messages (but it does this by uploading the text message to your phone and a command to send it). You can't really do the same with an audio call though. If you're on a laptop, though, you can set up Skype or X-Lite to use the internet connection through your phone to log-in to the network. This would let you place "calls" from your computer through your phone's GPRS or GSM (or if you're really lucky, UMTS or 3G) modem.
