is there a quick way of copying lots of contact from the sim card to the phone memory on c500? i also want to keep a back up on the pc.

You can use Sim Manager (in Accessories folder) and use Select All, Add to contacts ;)

yea i found that. do i then keep the contacts from the sim card?

All you do with the SIM manager is to copy then if you do not want the contacts on the SIM you can then select to delete them all.
