Guest Chase Posted June 20, 2005 Report Posted June 20, 2005 Hi guys hoping you can help me: On Saturday night, I noticed that I couldn't unlock the keypad on the phone, so tried to power off, which also refused to do anything, so I took the battery out and put it back in. The canary screen came up and stayed there. Pressed the power buttin and the phone switched off, pressed it again, and the phone booted as normal, but when booting completed, the keypad was still locked and I was in the same situation as earlier. Activesync works, and I can browse files on the phone from my laptop. I've tried a hard reset, but the phone just boots normally, as if the keypresses aren't being detected. The phone can only be reset by taking out the battery. Every time I do this though, I'm greeted by the canary screen. Do you think my keypad has packed in? Is it also coincidence that I'm now being presented with the canary screen each time I remove/re-insert the battery? Thanks in advance
Guest Chase Posted June 23, 2005 Report Posted June 23, 2005 I've sent the phone to HTC who reckon there is a software fault with it. Maybe it will come back with the latest ROM on board ;)
