M2000 - How to turn off

Hey All,

Forgive me for an absolutely simple request, but I am in a spot of bother. I have just had my new SPV M2000 for a few hours and am having difficulty in turning it off without taking the battery out. If I "turn" off the power, the screen will go blank but the green power light still blinks. Is there a way of completely turning power off?

Many thanks,

Jay

Hi Jay,

As I understand it, there is no way of turning the power off directly. Can I ask why this is important to you though?

Power consumption is dramatically reduced by turning the screen off. If you are concerned about battery life, you can set the WLAN to stop searching when you are disconnected, and you can turn bluetooth off.

You can turn the phone radio off if you don't want calls, or put on silent.

You can even lock the buttons so that when you do turn the screen off, you won't accidentally press buttons when it's in your pocket (although I would recommend purchasing a decent case)

Hope this helps, post back if you have any other queries or don't know how to do any of the above.

Hey Paul,

That is very much appreciated - and thank you for your comments. Makes sense to me.

As for locking the keys, how do you do this as it was very simple on the SPV200. For example, I thought I had locked my 2000 last night and put in my bag when seeing a movie. On leaving, it had turned on and been on the Internet for over an hour!

Many thanks.

It's actually easier than the SPV200 because you only need to do it once.

Just go to Start > Settings > System > Button Lock

and select 'Lock all buttons except Power button'.

Tap OK, then whenever you turn off the screen, you also lock all the buttons except the power button, which you obviously need to turn it back on!

Hope that makes sense.
