bluetooth headset problem

I recently got a logitech mobile freedom bluetooth (new one) and tried pairing it with the mpx220. This pairing worked fine, and right after i clicked "Yes" in regards to setting it as my handsfree profile, it worked fine as a bluetooth headset. THe problem comes in when i turn the headset off and try to use it later. At this point, when i do power the headset on, it does not automatically set the phone into headset mode. THe only way to get the headset to work again is by repairing the devices. How can i resolve this issue? Any input is appreciated thanks
