Guest kklaus Posted January 17, 2003 Report Posted January 17, 2003 hi, my spv is not starting any more. turned it off and try to turn it on again and nothing. no green light no startup. doesn't work with the cable and not without. guys any idea?
Guest Firaas Posted January 17, 2003 Report Posted January 17, 2003 Unless the battery's dead, if you've tried the button several times, you need to give Orange a bell.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted January 17, 2003 Report Posted January 17, 2003 How long are you pressing it for? Sound daft but sometimes I need to press mine for a good few seconds before it re-awakes and asks for a coffee. seriously try pressing it a bit longer. Also When the charger is plugged in does the led light up showing charge? as it could be a duff battery, unlikly but it did come from O ;)
Guest kklaus Posted January 17, 2003 Report Posted January 17, 2003 the led is not lighting up when the charger is plugged! as well i try to press longer.
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted January 18, 2003 Report Posted January 18, 2003 All mobiles i've owned have had the press and hold requirement to get them to turn on, its just a built in safety feature to avoid accentally turnijng the phnoe on when its in your pocket etc. As for the problem it sounds as though you have a knackered phone, call up orange and moan ;)
Guest kevlar Posted January 18, 2003 Report Posted January 18, 2003 my spv is a nightmare to turn on sometimes. It can take me about 8 attempts sometimes, that's pressing and holding for up to 10 seconds each time. It has to be power related because if I plug the charger in it starts first time. It's obviously not the button because it brings up the quick list no problem at all. Kevlar

LED should be on when the charger is plugged in! Have you checked the mains plug adapter on the charger? It might not be in all the way so you could have a duff charger. Like Monolithix said (but for a different reason) call orange and get a replacement.
