please help i have tryed to remove the certification on my spv for 2 days but with no joy.

I have followed instructions from start to finsh but it still it dose not work. When i go to check the favorite that i changed at the start of the prosess it has not changed, but when i go and check the (mxipcold_oem_10.provxml and mxip_oem_10.provxml) files, they have been changed to the new settings.

But when i go and try and to install regedit.smartphone.zip it dose not work.

I think the problems is in the timeing of when the (mxipcold_oem_10.provxml and mxip_oem_10.provxml) are moved to the "My Smartphone/Windows" on the spv. please some help !!!!!!!

Hi,

I found that the instructions posted on Modaco did not work for me when followed exactly to the letter. I tried 8 times without success.

However, the version at http://www.bornsloppy.co.uk/app-cert.htm did work for me.

The important steps are:

1. Use Orange Backup to save your Contacts, etc.

2. Follow the instructions at the link above very closely.

3. Make sure Phone is in cradle at the start of this process with a Full Partnership set up in ActiveSync and connected/synced.

4. Take out of the cradle when you get to the step where you see the Canary colour bars, and pull the battery out - do not use Power Off Button.

5. NOW FOR THE MOST IMPORTANT BIT... when u switch phone back on, count 3 seconds exactly from the Orange screen turning into the Smartphone screen and quickly put the phone back in the cradle. Ignore any ActiveSync prompts that come up and copy the edited files back to the SPV as quickly as possible after the SPV Windows file list reappears - if you are too slow, it will not work (you are trying to get the files on before a program reads them)

6. Then, be patient (up to a few minutes) for the changes to sink in.

If it doesn't work first time, try the above a few times - it worked 3rd time for me.

Hope this helps,

Damian

First time for me ;)

I left a few seconds then the time it took me to plug the phone into the cradle (is it just me or is it a bitch to get it plugged in sometimes :/)

Then selected my edited .provxml's and copied them over as soon as activesync gave its "Connected" sound notification. Its been fine ever since

I've tried this 3 or 4 times and I can initiate the copy in time but it sits there doing nothing until the home screen begins to appear (obviously too late) then asks if I want to overwrite the files and begins copying.

;)

I have erased the IPSM in DIAG mode. It takes ages to get from the orange screen to the blue one. I then plug it in to the docking station after 3 seconds or less. The pc beeps immediately but active sync remains unconnected. I assume this beep is windows recognising a USB prescence.

Activesync takes considerably longer than 20 secs to connect then I have the problem as above...

Any help would be great.

Thanks

I found that if I plugged it in to the cradle too soon (e.g. immeadiately after the Orange startup screen changed to the MS startup screen) it wouldn't activesync until it was too late. Leave it a few seconds...

I dont think this works on all software versions, I have tried both modaco and bornsloppys versions and have the same problem with both. Basically, the erasure of the ISPM data removes the activesync partnership information from the SPV. Therefore when trying to copy the files across you are requested to setup a standard or guest partnership, this will not complete until the boot sequence is complete and the home screen is up. By this time it is obviously far too late for the file copy to have any effect.

Ho Hum!

scratch the above, just ignored the partnership requests and it worked. Just to refine one point, I used ctrl-C/ctrl-V to copy/paste the files and hit ctrl-v about 1-2 seconds after the plinky connection tone sounded. Nothing happens for a good few seconds and the SPV WILL get to the home screen, a few more seconds pass and the dialogs will come up on the PC for you to ok the copy. Hit these as quickly as you can and the copy will proceed. wait about 2 minutes then check the favourites in explorer and all is fine and unlocked. I also went with the 3 second option above with slight modification, count four seconds "one-one-thousand, two-one-thousand......." style from the moment the screen makes the transition to white screen from the sunset screen (i.e. BEFORE the blue smartphone screen).

worked for me, ITS TIME TO PLAY
