So you just mash the keyboard with your fist and pretend you're holding a joystick?

I'll believe it when i see it ;p

I had a driving game on the spectrum that used a roll of sellotape placed over the number keys as it's control method (you'd roll it left and right to steer)

Good grief that brings back memories..

Was it chequered flag.. or have i got to dig out my speccy bits to check!

- did you ever do better with selotape=wheel or revert to keys like most people.. (and COULD YOU EVER FIND THE SELOTAPE)

Nah, it never worked well enough for me. It's like I tend to end up using digital control on PS2 games over the analog sticks

no way, analog is easily better, especially for driving games, altho, the analog buttons are a bit of a joke, i mean, its a driving game, why would you want to go anything less than full speed

I like the look of that mini joystick. With one of those games like quake could be a very real possibility. Also should make Motocross stunt racer much easier to control! If the price is right I might end up getting both that and the keyboard. (although I do realise you can only use one at once!)

midnight, the analogue buttons are great. I use variable acceleration in GTA 3:VC all the time, especially when bombing around at high speed on the motorbikes.

Plus, I'm not sure if any games have done this, but the game software can tell how annoyed/frustrated you are by how hard you are hitting the buttons. Interesting possibilities...

Yeah, smells like an April fool doesn't it! And if it isn't, it sure looks like a stupid idea.

Who's actually going to use the keyboard as a joystick in public anyway?!

You'll look like some sort of chimp mashing the keyboard. Oook Oook!

You'll become the freak on the train who nobody wants to sit next to.

was supposed to be the sound of a monkey.

but librarians have been known to make that sound too.

i thought i was >discreetly< showing my anorakness. Then i remembered that all of you guys have an spv in your pocket and are reading a thread about playing games on a phone with a "i dddon't tthink i can hold this thing much longer" type of Terminator 2 explosive detonator switch.

and don't even get me started on the 1000 monkeys, 1000 typewriter references!
