Left Soft Key problem

Out of the blue, the Left Soft Key of my Qtek 8020 has gone crazy...

It is being pressed without touching it...

what shall I do?

OK, when it's happened on my old SPV here were the steps I had to take:

1) Make sure it's not caught on something and that's what's keeping it pressed (yup - spent ten mnutes trying to work out why it wouldn't unlock once before I noticed the direction pad was stuck!)

2) If the key is stuck down and you cannot un-jam it, either return the phone under it's warranty or insurance, or strip it apart to un-jam it if no warranty/insurance.

3) If the key is free but the phone still thinks it's pressed, try a hard reset - I appreciate this may not be possible with the phone thinking a key's pressed - in which case try re-flashing an up to date ROM if one's available.

4) If this still isn't possible, return the phone under warranty/insurance or (if none) strip phone to see if anything sticky or wet has got in and is confusing the phone.

5) If none of this works, give the phone to your child as a toy and use the resulting family goodwill to persuade the other half to let you buy a new one!
