Guest I. C. Monsters Posted January 19, 2003 Report Posted January 19, 2003 Greetings all! I've been saving my first post here for this moment. Last weekend I spent a good few hours designing a new original home screen for my SPV. It is based on an existing suite of application skins known as 'ChosenOS'. The reason for the delay is that I have been awaiting permission from the original designer to use the ChosenOS name for my theme. Happily, I have received permission from him, and here it is for you all to enjoy (or not): If anyone is interested in seeing some other work from the ChosenOS suite have a look here. All comments appreciated, ..::: icemaiden :::.. *** UPDATE *** Thanks to Oakley for pointing out that my skin does not support sms / email counts over a single digit (ie 9). I have fixed the skin to support larger numbers in the counts, and it is now available! ;) Many thanks to all of you for your feedback, it's greatly appreciated. *** ANOTHER UPDATE *** The original download link is now dead and buried see, it was before the days of attachments on good old modaco. Here's the file, sorry about that. ..::: icemaiden :::..ChosenOS_Smartphone.zip
Guest MECX Posted January 19, 2003 Report Posted January 19, 2003 this looks a very sweet skin man nice job
Guest yatpeak Posted January 19, 2003 Report Posted January 19, 2003 good one, much clearer than most, less cramped.
Guest Neiko69 Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 Everyone should have a look at this. It not only looks brilliant, but when installed really suits the overall design of the phone too (install it and see). This guy should be paid personally from Orange for his time and effort to produce something like this, compared to the shite that we’ve all had to put up with, anyone who thinks different is wrong.
Guest The Futures Bright Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 It's less colourfull than most of the skins yes, but I think this is what makes is so clean and easy to read. Also the program icons are of course in colour and really stand out. Doesn't look at all cluttered. WELL DONE! 8)
Guest AsherUK Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 I have to agree, really well designed and looks good when installed. Layot is very clear (which some of the other skins lack) and gives you all the info you need in an easily readable format. Great work Icemaiden !
Guest Oakley Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 Hey, Great design - thanks! One small suggestion/bug - when I have more than 9 (double digits) email messages unread, the second character falls outside of the background box...white text on the light grey background. otherwise, icemaiden you rule! -oAk-
Guest pjc Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 Top Job. One of the best looking homescreens ive seen. Simple to see, all the info you need and makes the phone look even cooler than it is...
Guest mugen Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 This is going to be my homescreen for the forseeable - it's great. Thanks
Guest I. C. Monsters Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 UPDATED... See first post for details.
Guest amo Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 Nice, hopefuilly the grey background dims down the torch effect of the backlite
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 But the torch is sooo useful ;) I'd miss it, and I do use it alot at night when I'm off to bed so I don't wake the other half due to after living on this site till the early hours  "See red folders" in off topic. amo that was quick after my pm  And it's very nice  self portrait? only kidding
Guest amo Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 I live on this forum too, i had nothing else to do so why not! You like it by the way? And upon reflection, the torch is quite usefull. Especially when ur usin the fone in bed and u drop it down the side. With the torch on u can still see where it is
Guest I. C. Monsters Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 *** UPDATE *** Thanks to Oakley for pointing out that my skin does not support sms / email counts over a single digit (ie 9). I have fixed the skin to support larger numbers in the counts, and it is now available! ..::: icemaiden :::..
Guest getwired Posted December 15, 2003 Report Posted December 15, 2003 I am trying to access this skin from the provided URL, but no luck. Anyone know where I can get my hands on the "chosen os" theme?
Guest D-rated Posted December 15, 2003 Report Posted December 15, 2003 Agree with getwired, I can't get to it. This screen is nice though, I actually had the ChosenOS theme for HoverDesk on my old work PC. Same interface / theme going on here, very cool.
Guest shadamehr Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 Nothing obvious that I can find on the site he links to either... So where is it?
Guest I. C. Monsters Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 Sorry folks, forgot all about that one. I'll update the first post with the file very soon.
Guest I. C. Monsters Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 It's done. See first post for attached zip file. Thanks y'all. I thought this one had been forgotten about. ..::: icemaiden :::..
Guest getwired Posted December 17, 2003 Report Posted December 17, 2003 Great homescreen - but has anyone tweaked it so that it supports calendar entries?
