Has anybody unlocked a Swiss SPV?

I tried to follow Paul's Guide to unlock my SPV.

Strange thing, i can't find the two .provxml files on my Handy. There are two files in the Windows Folder named "mxipcold_oem_10.provxml" and "mxip_oem_10.provxml" (note the "p" in the names).

I can't locate the attribute "Security Policy" in these two files.

I bought my SPV from Orange Switzerland, and installed the swiss update from the end of december.

Has anybody succeeded unlocking a swiss SPV?

Mine is a UK phone and my xml files have the same name (with the p), so these are the right files. Security is in there, just keep looking or send me a message and i'll mail you ready altered files.

Hi Samuel,

I have an unlocked SPV from Danmark with German OS - hell knows how that came out and where its really from... I've found and edited both files but wasn't able to install any apps on the phone even if it showed me the changed url as in the description. What I miss is the update - do you see any chance to do a complete backup on a sd/mmc-card and then sending it to me? Maybe I can help you then getting your phone unlocked (I can't reach the swiss update from germany, thats why I need someone who can backup his updated phone and then send me this file).

Cheers, Lutz

I don't know how to do that, i'm sorry

The update came over the air and i have no files to send you...

Maybe it's possible to download the ROM somehow, i don't know.

My SPV seems to be unlocked after erasing IPSM data, as decribed by Paul. I installed Snake and MyTools successfully and executed a sample Prog found in emmbedded visual tools ;)

I did not change anything in the two .provxml files!

Hi Samuel,

its actually pretty simple to do a complete backup of the SPV (and always good to have a backup!). Simply insert a SD/MMC-Card, then do a reboot like you did when you erased the IPSM-Folder (remove Battery for >5 sec., then hold the recording button and switch the phone on, hold the action key for a second and there you are by writing all to the Card). Then you can simply read out your SD/MMC-Card on your computer and have a ROM-File that you can send to me:-)...

Cheers, Lutz

Hi Lutz

You're right, its quite easy to to write the ROM to a SD-Card, i did not know ;)

Now there's a problem: the program (Canary Diag.) formats the card without asking. And it does it in a very special way, as it seems  . The card can not be read by PC/cardreader. Even the smartphone itself can not read it and wants to format it in order for using it with the smartphone. So i tried it by using active sync, but no success...

Any further ideas?

I have unlocked my SPV for some time now...

As you can read in a later posting the way i did it was much easier.

No file-editing!;)

Thanks for your help, nevertheless...

The Swiss SPV seems definitely to be unlocked after the Swiss Update! I have tried like samual.landis to load after the swiss update and a simple hard reseting a non certificated game (in my case hlogic) and i was suprised!! Without any changing or cracking my SPV, the mobile was able to load and start the game!!!

Yeeeah... thats COOL!!!!

Greetz from Lucerne to Kriens & winterthur!!

No i will try to check doom on my SPV

Hi ibbonet

Gruss

Sam
