I was able to simulate such problem by changing the nls overrides format of short Style Date of my registry.

If your Regional settings says 06/24/1005, your registry values should also be in that format, that is MM/dd/yyyy

HKLM\nls\overrides\SSDte

Im glad you had it sorted now. ;)

It's a known bug with regional settings and using the short date style "."

This bug only appears with certain regions though ie English but the bug does not show up if you have the region set to Germany for example.

You need to change two reg entries to fix this problem if you want to use the short date stye.

Th initial reg entry HKLM\nls\overrides\SSDte shows dd mmmm yyyy this needs to be changed to dd.mm.yy

then you also need to change HKLM\nls\overrides\SDate as it will show "/" when it needs to be "."

For these changes to take effect you need to reboot the phone.

Cheers pzee for the initial clues, finally made me get off my backside and look into it a bit more ;)

UPDATE just noticed that the actual Date is screwed in Date and time if you change the short date style to something else. I found that it was showing 24.mm.05 and then when you highlight it, it then shows 24.37.2005

The problem only occured when I changed the short date style to another format but if you change it back to the "." it shows the date properly again :-)

SDate for the date separator, SSDte for short style date format.

Cheers! :)

Ok an edit on the above

After playing with different short date style options the registry settles down. So the initial change needs to be

The initial reg entry HKLM\nls\overrides\SSDte shows dd mmmm yyyy this needs to be changed to dd MMMM yyyyy

and also change HKLM\nls\overrides\SDate from / to . and then it's job done :)

It now appears that if you use mmmm instead of MMMM on the homescreen (tested with pzee's Mpire animated theme) it will show the long date style as 26 mmmm 2005 instead of 26 June 2005.

I have played and rebooted countless times and now I have a stable registry that enables me to use the short date style. with the UK region :D

Ok second and last edit

After testing this on an original SPV, E100, E200 C500 and an MPX200

I have found that you only need to alter the HKLM\nls\overrides\SDate from / to . and then that's it.
