Guest chewie Posted March 26, 2003 Report Posted March 26, 2003 O.k all, i have searched. Couldn't find anything and time is against me. I don't know why but ages ago i was messing around with my data connection settings, now whenever i try to connect to wap pages the phone always tells me "Page cannot be displayed". The internet side of things on gprs works fine, its just seems to be that the phone wont connect to any wap pages. I've tried the internet fix by changing the settings but it still wont work. Has any got or can remeber the default settings (as i am sure that worked). Also i dont need to be able to use the cradle as a pass thru, so that bits not important. Cheers all
Guest RS Posted March 26, 2003 Report Posted March 26, 2003 The SPV can not access sites which go through a WAP portal, this was answered on one of Oranges FAQ pages at www.orange.net. Seems silly to me, I would love to access the WAP area of multimap.com, but I always get diverted to the main page (With all the graphics to download!). Unfortunatly, the 'tone' of the reply was that this will not change!
Guest Coolboy1982 Posted March 26, 2003 Report Posted March 26, 2003 if you use a programme called webwapselect for the spv, you can access everything! Don't know exactly where to get it! Do a search! I works by telling the network its a wapphone/pc/handheld/spv, so whatever type of content you want to see, it switches this for you and everything should be accessible through internet explorer on the spv!
Guest Syvwlch Posted March 26, 2003 Report Posted March 26, 2003 Mono has it on his site, I believe...
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted March 26, 2003 Report Posted March 26, 2003 Yep, bottom of the page in my sig i believe...
Guest chewie Posted March 26, 2003 Report Posted March 26, 2003 Cheers for the replies. But i have been able to access the wap site before. Infact i made the wapsite. Someone else has found a couple of errors with it, now i need to go back and check those errors. My SPV accessed the wapsite perfectly about 4 weeks ago. But i think i played with the settings and messed it all up
Guest yatpeak Posted March 28, 2003 Report Posted March 28, 2003 I think that if you connect through WAP network, even if it's a GPRS connection, it will take preference to the WAP site. Wyatt
