Guest TooMuch2AM Posted March 26, 2003 Report Posted March 26, 2003 Hi all, I'm off to Madrid for a few days in the next couple of weeks (no, I'm not David Beckham's agent sadly) and was wondering if the SPV could be charged using the 'two prong' adapter that comes with the UK version? I don't fancy frying my SPV en espaná! M
Guest charliem74 Posted March 26, 2003 Report Posted March 26, 2003 I managed to charge my SPV in France using the two pronged adapter, and it didn't fry. You should be fine in Spain as well since Western European plugs are all the same (with the exception of UK and Ireland) Have a good trip, Madrid is a great city.
Guest HelloDave Posted March 26, 2003 Report Posted March 26, 2003 I'm not sure on the voltage/frequency of the mains in Spain, but the charger should be fine - it's compatible with 100-240v input at 50Hz or 60Hz, which covers just about every mains supply around the world (I think!).
Guest spacemonkey Posted March 26, 2003 Report Posted March 26, 2003 As far as I know voltages in europe are the same as england. I've charged my spv in italy, egypt and france with no problems... The charger should have come with an english style attachment and a weird looking 2 pronged thing. The 2 pronged thing is probably what you'll need...
Guest crimminsky Posted March 26, 2003 Report Posted March 26, 2003 came back from lanzarote the other week where I charged my phone daily. you will have no probs.
Guest Ethanol Posted March 27, 2003 Report Posted March 27, 2003 I am 100% possitive spain uses 230/240v and 50Hz. I lived in Spain for a year. The only thing to worry about is the number of power surges they have out there. Enjoy!! it sure beats Manchester. In fact what am I doing here???
Guest Rob.P Posted March 27, 2003 Report Posted March 27, 2003 It's a switching supply and will work in any country as long as your 2 prong fits the socket. The last country I used it in was Thailand, but they have the same current as the UK just need to use the 2 prong.
Guest spacecowboy6982 Posted March 27, 2003 Report Posted March 27, 2003 All European countrys use the "2 prong" plug. (I've used it in Italy and France.)
