Guest sb Posted March 26, 2003 Report Posted March 26, 2003 Does anyone have any experience of unlocking the sim causing any problems on the phone.
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted March 26, 2003 Report Posted March 26, 2003 Only if you're running Windows 9x/ME as its only NT/2k/XP compatible unforutnately :/ Other than that its fine and causes no adverse problems
Guest Coolboy1982 Posted March 26, 2003 Report Posted March 26, 2003 shouldn't, as it is only involving keying in a code! One person in one thread claimed though that using an O2 sim after unlocking caused his phone to hard-reset, which meant he had to go through the uncert process again, which allows unsigned apps to run. Don't know if that was really the only cause... I presumed here that you meant unlocking of the sim, to use other cards, if you meant unsigning to run uncerted apps, that shouldn't cause any great harm to the phone either... Hope this answers your questions...

Guest Coolboy1982 Posted March 26, 2003 Report Posted March 26, 2003 ;p And he is talking about simunlock, as per the topic title  yeah, I know, but some newbees confused the 2 things before, so I gave him a summary on both, just in case...
Guest sb Posted March 26, 2003 Report Posted March 26, 2003 Thanks, and yes, even though i am a newbee, it was the sim unlock that i was talking about....but i did need to do a bit of research before posting the question. i haven't had the balls to do the uncert yet. Shame there isn't a site like this for the 9210i! Thanks again
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted March 26, 2003 Report Posted March 26, 2003 Np, and decert isn't thtat scarey
Guest Hax Posted March 26, 2003 Report Posted March 26, 2003 Especially if you use Will's decert helper app (can be found here) I've decerted previously without and it often tooks several attempts, but in the last day, I've had the need to decert about three times and used said program. Each decert went through first time and without any hitches - it takes all the hard work out of decerting your phone  One point - if you use it, you're probably best unchecking the "Loop every" box - I've read that some people had problems with it but I don't know if Will has fixed those. Anyway, I didn't need the loop option ;) Definitely do the decert proces though - opens up a whole new world of use for your phone, including new apps and fantastic games and emulators (as I'm sure you are aware :( You won't look back - trust me (us even!) HTH, Hax
