Guest recoil Posted March 26, 2003 Report Posted March 26, 2003 Hi there.... Just borrowed a friends SPV to see how I like it for when I upgrade... It hadnt had the upgrade installed... so I decided to do it. Unfortunatley it appears to have broken  It is showing 4 coloured bars saying Canary MV and one saying usb. Its been sitting there for about 10 mins now ;) Is there anyway I can get it back to the original state... heeellllppp
Guest Rigsta Posted March 26, 2003 Report Posted March 26, 2003 OK, first of all WAIT for 5 minutes or so... I don't remember exactly but I think mine stayed on the canary screen for a while during updating too (and mine went without a hitch). I know this sounds kind of obvious, but try turning it off then on again once you've waited a while. The power button is on the left side of the phone nearest the top. You'll probably have to hold it down for 2 seconds or so to get the desired effect. As for the upgrade... restart the process and make sure you follow the instructions TO THE LETTER or you could end up returning your friend's SPV settings to the factory default... If you think you did everything right, have a look around on the forum or www.coolsmartphone.com to see if the issue is addressed.
Guest fozzie Posted March 26, 2003 Report Posted March 26, 2003 Mine did the same. A power off/power on (leaving everything else as it was) got things going again. Phew!
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted March 26, 2003 Report Posted March 26, 2003 The next thing to try which seems to work for most members is to try and re-run the update.
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted March 26, 2003 Report Posted March 26, 2003 You need to: Remove it from the cradle Pull the battery for 5 mins Turn it on and place back in the cradle Re-run the update. If that doesnt work try running the update again on a different PC, which fixed my phone when i had this problem...
