Guest Mr_Protozoa Posted March 26, 2003 Report Posted March 26, 2003 Hey guys (and gals) I've managed to crack the facia around the keypad on my SPV, it still works, but I was wondering if this has happened to anybody else?phone_crack.jpg
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted March 26, 2003 Report Posted March 26, 2003 It has happened to another member, can't find the thread though :/
Guest midnight Posted March 26, 2003 Report Posted March 26, 2003 have you dropped it at any time? cos from the looks of it, it may have taken a knock to the bottom of the phone, i aint accusing, only wondering
Guest Mr_Protozoa Posted March 26, 2003 Report Posted March 26, 2003 Nah - havn't dropped it - think one of my housemates hit me in the leg with a shopping trolly in ASDA yesterday. He's just bitter because he's got a 8310!
Guest abamara Posted March 27, 2003 Report Posted March 27, 2003 I have dropped mine heavily several times now but it's in a leather case. No lasting effects though, so it seems as if these cases do offer some protection. I can recall dropping my new franklin ebook reader with disastrous effects! But that is another story............ Mr_Protozoa is yours in any protective case?
Guest Mr_Protozoa Posted March 27, 2003 Report Posted March 27, 2003 Not got my phone in a case, the original one is shockingly poor and i'm a cheap student so i never got around to buying a new one. Think i may line my pockts with a jiffy bag. The low budget alternative. Mind you, how much protection can a thin clear plastic case give?
Guest Mr_Protozoa Posted March 27, 2003 Report Posted March 27, 2003 Think i may give orange care a call over the easter holidays. Hopefully i'll get a replacement, without any dust under the screen!
Guest abamara Posted March 27, 2003 Report Posted March 27, 2003 I did get a 3330 leather case for £7. Works quite well and does not largely increase size of the spv. Good luck with O care!
Guest Coolboy1982 Posted March 27, 2003 Report Posted March 27, 2003 This case is why nothing can happen to my phone: http://www.ortlieb.de/_prod.php?prod1=boxi...odukt=boxit-box
Guest Mr_Protozoa Posted March 27, 2003 Report Posted March 27, 2003 WOW! That's one mighty case Coolboy, does it add much size to the phone?
Guest Coolboy1982 Posted March 28, 2003 Report Posted March 28, 2003 WOW! That's one mighty case Coolboy, does it add much size to the phone? Yes, it does! And I have to put in the phone the wrong way around, if I want to connect the earphones and pass the lead out through the rubber plug at the top. But i bought this before I knew I was getting the spv (planned some nokia) and did so, cause I dropped my last 6210 hundreds of times so it died a lot of time before my (still running) 24 months German contract runs out... So there are some drawbacks to this case, which is why I don't use it all the time, but it already saved the phone during some drops and I hope it will also take longer for dust to come to the screen (have a single grain of dust though)!
