hey all, just a quick note to point out an interesting feature i found in word 2003.

There is a nice little option on the "save as" box where any word document can be converted and saved as Pocket Word Document format.

Which i think is really handy in saving and in the correct format for Pocket Word.

Now all we need is the program for the SPV and we all will be happy.

That sounds great. Now all we needs is a program to read it !

If you're doing that, you might as well save as html instead, which the phone can read

Does anyone know if plugins can be written for activesync to add to its file converters? Surely it would be easy for MS to write a plugin that'd automatically convert a word doc into html when you drag it over to the phone (giving an option to keep the format intact, ofc)

Don't ever use MS Word to write HTML - it makes a bloated, sucky, sucky version of any document.

yeah, I'm a notepad purist. The only time I've ever used the saveas html option is when I've needed to put a doc on the web for quick access

i just copy all the text into notepad and save the file as a .html file, who cares about formatting ;P

Just a matter of time until smartphone warez appear!

Edit- No promotion of p2p or filesharing apps, thanks --Mono

Edit - sorry, was not trying to promote them! I don't trust warez and shared progs anyway, as they have known to contain viruses frequently...

I don't actually own a copy (and i'm not on the beta).

I have seen it in action though, looks shiney.

Do they exist? MS ones i mean, i thought they were just a rumour and the real beta-testers were the one who download the "leaked Beta" (or Alpha if your running Longhorn ;)) :(
