Guest Coolboy1982 Posted March 27, 2003 Report Posted March 27, 2003 Yes! Maybe its a network setting that is saved by orange. Cause I had my Orange card briefly in my Nokia 6210 which had this turned on I think.
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted March 27, 2003 Report Posted March 27, 2003 Hmm, it doesnt appear to be an option on the SPV. You seem to have a unique "bug"
Guest madu Posted March 27, 2003 Report Posted March 27, 2003 Yep!! Finally, the bug I really want as well1!
Guest rUssKi Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 hi guys, new to this place but it rox. ive had the spv for a few days, being the techie freak that i am ive hacked it to pieces many times, installed several thousand pieces of software, gone thru more hard resets than i care to count, thought id bust it several times and have been able to bring it back to life each time. its official...its the best phone ive ever had and there has been a few. ok the sms delivery glitch.... it was buggin the sh1te outta me that i wasnt gettin em even tho it was setup for them. i know that delivery reports is a setting stored on your SIM so i then took my SIM out and put it into a nokia 7110 that i have, i then turned sms reports OFF on the SIM (using the 7110), turned them back on, put the SIM back into the SPV and...... HEY PRESTO they are now working perfectly. ive since done this with my mates SIM who had the same prob with his SPV and again this has fixed it. hope this helps. Alternatively... type RCT before your message and this will force the orange SMS centre to send u a delivery report  PS. to turn delivery reports on in the SPV....ProgramsInbox-SMSNewMessageMenuMessage Options 8)
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 Welcome to the site ;) rUssKi Nice one guys looks like you've found a nice workaround for the delivery reports cheers :) added to the Articles section.
Guest MoRFLeZ Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 Aaawwww ... and to think I just sent my Nokia away *sniff*! Now I gotta find a Nokia friend .. shouldn't be too hard! But I'll definitely have to test this as soon as I bump into a nokia phone! Thx for this awesome tip! I miss my reports!
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 It has now been added to Aticles, but please can we have more testers to confirm that it works for everyone. Cheers
Guest Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 Just tried this, and sorry, but it doesn't work for me. I still get the message telling me it's been sent, but this is no indication of whether it's been received at the other end. To get the actual delivery report, I still have to set it on a per message basis.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 I have now managed to try it as well without success ;) Thanks Pete for trying, I will remove the topic in articles  sorry all :)
Guest morpheus Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 It is very simple to get a delivery report to tell you if the recipient has received it, and this is how you do it. Before you write your message, put RCT in front of it, make sure it is in capitals, then write your message. You will get the MESSAGE SENT info and as soon as it is received you will get a message back to your SPV with- *id - identification code *dlvrd - delivered message *date - date sent *status - usually DELIVERED *text - the txt you sent Morpheus
Guest MoRFLeZ Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 Hmmm this only works for UK peeps I spose .. cause it surely doesn't work for me sitting here in the everlasting cold of Denmark!
Guest EMGenius Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 i ttried the nokia trick with my 8210, and it didn't work for me either, i guys u guys must be lucky i suppose!!
Guest morpheus Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003   Don't forget, you can put RCT before the message  Morpheus
Guest deejayry Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 Didnt work for me, but i didnt have a nokia, i tried my sim in my Sony Z7e, when i opened the measage settings on the sony the delevery reports were disabled (old sim they weren't) so i enabled del reports, and put the sim back in my SVP, but there was no change ;)
Guest Mfrijm Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 hello, i didn't try the Nokia trick but i think it's not working because before my SPV i had a 8310 WITH the delivery on and on mij SPV it doesn't worked ever. the RCT option is not working either for the Netherlands. greatzzzz.....
Guest EMGenius Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 i guess we can just hope for the next orange update... (along with text count in SMS among other things)
Guest MoRFLeZ Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 I tested it with a nokia 8210 and couldn't get it working! It was really fast tho, so I only got to turn them on then change sim cards again .. (instead of on / off / on ) Oh well...
Guest madu Posted April 24, 2003 Report Posted April 24, 2003 yes yes morph, but do you really think it's quicker to type RCT (7+1clicks) or do a Menu>4>Action>Done (4clicks)??
