Hi - I am new to this forum (good work you guys....... this site is rocks !).

Last night I downloaded the decert app v.2 - and I managed to decert my phone !!

But........... I have now noticed that pocket outlook goes ridiculously slowly, and will not open e-mails either. Has anyone else had this problem ???

Can it be fixed without having to do a hard-reset, and then do the whole decert process again ?

I am also getting a white screen a lot of the time......... what's going on there ?

Please help guys......... I use my e-mail a lot.

Moved to help and advice.

There might have been a problem within the decert process, you might want to look into doing another hard reset i'm afraid...

Adam - you are not alone. I have EXACTLY the same problem after running the decert program, second version. Scrolling e-mails is impossibly slow, can only see headers - can't open the e-mails, envelope icon not appearing on left hand side of e-mails and SMS messages, and can't write an e-mail or SMS - have tried this from every possible angle, i.e. forwarding, replying, sending file by e-mail from IA Explorer, IA Smart Album, etc - literally nothing happens at all.

Have tried re-naming cemail.vol to cemail2.vol to see if the new cemail.vol file helped, but didn't. Could the file-altering process involved in the decert have effected matters? Any of you experts know what this could be? And what files run these processes which are dud at the moment?

VERY annoying! De-cert process was excellent - worked a treat, just this one problem. However, it's a big problem.

Note, I have not had white screens - the inbox is my only problem.

Have not gone through the de-cert process for a second time. Hoping someone can save me the trouble of settings this all up again!

Many many thanks for any useful reply!

hmm can you guys try something, send yourself a very small email. or sms. (ie one that does not need to be 'downloaded')

I have tried to replicate this, by doing stupid things while hard resetting. but i cannot find a problem.

if the small email/sms thing does not work, try soft-reseting the phone.

And check the amount of storage space on the phone.

Have tried short e-mails - still no joy.

Have done many soft resets since last night (as is the way with these SPVs!!) with no impact.

Note: During the post-hard reset stage of the decert I clicked the option to end copying the file over, but my click didn't register so I clicked again but this may have been about ten minutes later. I may have done something with my inbox in the meantime - could this be the problem? Did you do something similar Adam??

I had the same problems after first decert - no sms/email editor at all. Was able to recieve sms & read them ok, but my gprs went off at the same time so I dunno about emails.

I did a hard reset, then decert V2 again, and that completely fixed all problems except the gprs which is still knackered, but I figure that since a hard reset did not fix it, it wasn't because of the decert.

when you re-decert, turn off the loop option..

All the decert does is copy the file repeatedly, nothing more, nothing less.

My GPRS is working fine, so this may be an un-cert related problem you are experiencing Dr!

I can confirm I get e-mails and SMSs, but experience the problems I mentioned above.

One important note, however: I have SMS messages from before I de-certed my phone. I copied the cemail.vol folder to my laptop before running the de-cert, then copied it back afterwards. When I scroll through this part of my inbox it scrolls quickly, as normal, and I can open the messages. I still can't reply to them though. Hope this may help pin-point the issue.

Any thoughts, oh great minds out there!

The process as i understand it:

cemail.vol is checked on power on. to index the files on the phone.

if the file cemail.vol is not present, the phone creates it 'empty'.

If it does exist the phone assumes everything is ok and uses //grabbing straws here// this to reference storage areas for emails etc.

This is why sometimes it gets out of sync if you crash the phone while outlook is open.

Try renaming cemail.vol, to cemail.old, and rebooting phone.

(as hundreds of people have downloaded this decerter, and only about a dozen people have reported problems, mostly different problems). I don't think there is much that can go wrong.)

Many thanks for your help Will!

The de-cert program is really great. I have had my phone since late November, but hadn't decerted at all until last night. It took me a couple hours to pluck up the courage, and the decert tool was really great.

I shall give the cemail renaming thing another go. If that doesn't work, it's not the end of the world. I'll de-cert again and tell you how I get on.

Cheers!

Chris

I tried to send a very small e-mail to myself - but outlook just doesn't want to know !! It seems to be able to read SMS's - but then you can't reply.......

Will - I will try and rename the cemail file - and see if that helps..........

I'll post up my findings.

If that doesn't work - I guess it's hard reset time, and I'll have to do the decert again.

Thanks for your thoughts guys - much apprreciated.

I renamed the file and rebooted. Still same problem in Inbox. New cemail. vol file created.

Did you sort it out eventually? If so how? Can you post please? Many thanks!
