Guest spiderboy Posted March 27, 2003 Report Posted March 27, 2003 I have a WAP site that reads as a wap site on a nokia but when I try to access the WAP site on the SPV then it gives me the full website. Is there a way to have the SPV access the wap site :?: The site in question is http://www.warnervillage.co.uk/wap/orange.asp
Guest Firaas Posted March 27, 2003 Report Posted March 27, 2003 The only way AFAIK is to set your connections as CSD - that should fix it, you're charged at WAP rates (standard national call rates), and you need to revert everything back to GPRS once you've finished with WAP. 156 can guide you through if need be.
Guest fraser Posted March 27, 2003 Report Posted March 27, 2003 Is there not a tool that allows you to change the browsers outgoing type message? I'm pretty sure there is one for the SPV. Basically, the browser sends it's capabilities to the site when connecting, and the site returns the relevant page. This tool allows you to change the browser into a WAP browser and back again later.

Ah yes - there's WebWapSelect - see http://www.monolithix.org/apps/WebWapSelect.zip
Guest yatpeak Posted March 28, 2003 Report Posted March 28, 2003 I notice that if I set the GPRS connection to run through the WAP Network, and set PIE to connect through the WAP Network, it will show HTML sites, but it will take preference to wap sites. Wyatt
Guest Thurstan Posted March 31, 2003 Report Posted March 31, 2003 Doesn't work for me. Installed it to SD card, created shortcut, go to TYPE>WAP, but no joy. Am I doing something wrong?
Guest martin Posted March 31, 2003 Report Posted March 31, 2003 This is an internet site that tells you about WAP cinema (its not a WAP site itself) It tells you to access orange WAP homepage http://orange.multimedia/ and click on go out/stay in. then follow rest of instructions.... Obvoiusly you have to setup the GPRS WAP connection for Internet explorer first. Make default Data connections : Internet connection = Orange GPRS WAP connection = Orange WAP then toggle IE connection between Select network = The internet (GPRS Internet) Select network = Wap Network (GPRS WAP)
