Guest sb Posted March 27, 2003 Report Posted March 27, 2003 Anyone know of a contacts database like the psion that will run on the spv? The thing that makes the psion database so useful is that you can search under any element or part thereof ie. name, number, notes, even part of a number.

Maybe someone could write a little search app that uses the contacts, cause I don't think we'd need a whole new database with all the infos you can store in a contact.
Guest sb Posted March 28, 2003 Report Posted March 28, 2003 Normaly in name the name field ( when using outlook or the spv) ( I HATE OUTLOOK!!) you need to put in just a christian name and surname. You can put in other stuff here but it defeats the object of a name field. When you search using the spv or outlook it searches just the names. If it searched notes as well it would be incredibly usefull. For example, you cannot decide which restaurant to go to... type in restaurants and if you have put this in the notes section, all restaurants will come up, same applies to any number of things where you cannot remember an exact name. I use this system alot as i have an applaling memory! So if anyone does fancy writing an app ...good luck....it is well beyond me!
Guest kingbing Posted March 31, 2003 Report Posted March 31, 2003 With the restaurants thing, in desktop Outlook, add "Restaurants" as the category for those contacts. This will get sync-ed across to Pocket Outlook, and you can now filter on Restaurants. I've got this set up for taxis - very useful.
