Guest Gears Posted November 27, 2002 Report Posted November 27, 2002 When setting "Automatic" in data connections for connection to the internet, the pass-thru works fine (on cradle) but when phone is OFF the cradle it will attempt to use GPRS instead - but no data will appear on screen.
Guest Gears Posted November 27, 2002 Report Posted November 27, 2002 Here's what to change: In Data Connections go to menu > Edit Connections In Dial-up Connections change the Orange CSD WAP entry so it connects to "WAP Network". In the GPRS connections change the Orange WAP entry so it connects to "WAP Network". Now WAP sites should work, desktop passthrough should work, and GPRS should work.
Guest dom Posted November 29, 2002 Report Posted November 29, 2002 Cool, that worked for me... still, think that should be set up by default - it's not really the most obvious thing to do - or is it just me? :D
Guest Treadsoftly Posted November 29, 2002 Report Posted November 29, 2002 I find that a tweak of the settings is necessary. Try this: When editing GPRS connection > Orange GPRS, set it to 'The Internet', instead of 'WAP network'. The SPV should now be able to surf via your PC internet connection when connected to your PC, and automatically switch to GPRS when off the cradle, so that you can surf websites, and use Messenger. It should make the switch automatically. The problem Iwas finding the the previous settings was that i couldn't sign into Messenger, as it was routing via the Wap network, rather than GPRS.
