Guest The_Brickster Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 I'm wanting to set up a project to develop a piece of software for the SPV which will benefit users who are on the Everday 50 tariff. If you are good at programming, and have ED50 - could you PM me and I'll get back to you with a few more details.
Guest amo Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 Is this some sort of program to tell you when your 50 mins of each day are up? If so this would be very usefull.
Guest The_Brickster Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 No it will be a way of banking your free minutes from the evening to use them throughout the day.
Guest amo Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 Wow, thats a brilliant idea. Be carefull though, i dont think that orange would be too pleased about this. Also, is this even possible, surely ud have to access the orange billing system somehow
Guest The_Brickster Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 Nothing like that! Check your PM
Guest Tyrant_worm Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 Yeah i'm on Everyday 50 and I don't get it ???
Guest quistis2k Posted January 21, 2003 Report Posted January 21, 2003 I am on everyday 50, I am no use at proramming but i would be very interested in the finished program.
Guest Bhoppy Posted January 30, 2003 Report Posted January 30, 2003 Have there been any further developmemts on this because im definately interested.
Guest crimminsky Posted January 30, 2003 Report Posted January 30, 2003 hey brickster, pm me and let me know, i'm signed up for a c++ course soon. this sound very interesting. ps i'm on ed50 too
Guest Treadsoftly Posted January 30, 2003 Report Posted January 30, 2003 Yes - on ed50, but can't program. Would be very interested in this tho - please copy me into any correspondence! :>
Guest kevlar Posted January 30, 2003 Report Posted January 30, 2003 I'm also on ED50, the best tariff in the world.......ever! LOL No idea how you intend getting around this tho, be interested in the prog for defo. Kevlar
Guest weejinky Posted January 31, 2003 Report Posted January 31, 2003 I am on everyday 50. I can program, but I guess you dont need MATLAB!! Sounds v. interesting. I would love to know what your idea is.
Guest Kal-el Posted January 31, 2003 Report Posted January 31, 2003 This makes no sense. Forgive me for being a pessimist but how do u intend to "bank" unused minutes. You would need to fool the orange servers that you were making an off peak call during the week days. If anyone wants to give me the formula for perpetual motion i would happiliy take that off them...
Guest madu Posted January 31, 2003 Report Posted January 31, 2003 Aren't we all on Anytime?? Or Everytime or whatever it is called?? PLEASE TELL ME: Can you check your free minutes left through 150?? It tells me that I can't do it on this phone. And OCS tell me that they have probs with the system and it is down for good.. Surely that's a load of bollox if we cannot check the free minutes?!?!?!??!
Guest samjam Posted February 6, 2003 Report Posted February 6, 2003 Some people get a semi-premium rate number and phone it to use up their free minutes, then at the end of the month they get a cheque; places like http://www.ophone.co.uk/ I don't know if this scheme is possible witrh everyday 50, but I mention it as possible one way to acheive what is being talked about. Sam
Guest jedi-masta Posted February 6, 2003 Report Posted February 6, 2003 i would love to know how this thing works. I'm on ED50 have a little programming skill.
Guest yzbob Posted February 6, 2003 Report Posted February 6, 2003 im interested if u get round to pm'ing another lot of people very Intriguing ?? thanks
Guest crimminsky Posted February 7, 2003 Report Posted February 7, 2003 brickster, I got your pm but you're forgetting one crucial thing. 0800 numbers are not free on the orange network! good idea though.
Guest ajb3000 Posted February 7, 2003 Report Posted February 7, 2003 actually voice calls to 0800 numbers ARE free on Orange!! In fact I believe Orange are the only mobile operator in the UK to offer free 0800 calls.
Guest crimminsky Posted February 7, 2003 Report Posted February 7, 2003 can you back that up with a link to orange ajb3000? I've always been under the impression that they weren't free. although I cant recall as to why I am under that impression :)
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted February 7, 2003 Report Posted February 7, 2003 I can't remember if it was Orange or Cellnet but they used to say you are "being charged" when you actually dialed the 0800 number.
