Guest dava Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 I was recently messing about with the sms options on my SPV and decided to select the 'import messages from SIM' option. This worked fine and imported 14 messages which I later deleted... ...however, when I deleted the messages the sms counter did not reset and continues to display (14) new! Anyone else experienced this or know how to fix it without doing a hard reset? dava
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 Try re-importing the messages, it might be picking up on them still as there is no way of removing the from the sim card. Although the messages that got stuck on my sim seem to have deleted themselves...
Guest dava Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 Yeah, I tried both importing them again and I even got out my previous Nokia phone and deleted them all from the SIM with the Nokia PC Suite software. Unfortunately even after this process the issue remains... Thinking about unlocking the phone anyway as there are a few new games to try and I understand that this will reset the phone anyway so I guess that this will also resolve the problem (I remain hopeful). dava

Guest dava Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 Taking a look now, do you know if it's possible to follow the unlocking procedure using IR rather than USB for sync? (cradle at work, me at home with laptop). Have you also tried the games on http://alain.shadows.free.fr/inthepocket/index.htm ? I will do so once the phone is unlocked, but have seen reports that they work fine. dava
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 You wouldn't be able to do the unlocking procedure with IR sync, as you need to run Activesync from the SPV side to activate the IR port. As for the game, I have one downloaded from that site. I'm as yet to have used it though, i'll copy it over now and give it a blast

Guest ajb3000 Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 you imported 14 messages from a SIM card that only supports 10?? (providing you are using an Orange SIM), this phone has some serious issues!!
Guest dava Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 Monolithix - I think you're probably right about the games choices... ajb - I was importing from a Vodafone SIM which is why it managed to pick up 14 messages, and that may be the route of the problem although I doubt it. I may just have to wait until somebody more technical than me has the same issue and manages to fix the problem; otherwise it's a hard reset whilst I unlock my SPV. dava
