fortuna slim gps

Hi, i have just purchased the above it has a sirf starIII chipset. I am running destinator sp sat nav. the problem i have is when i try to pair it with my spv c500 i do all the usual and it says pairing, then asks for pin 0000 so i do then i set as authorised and while this is happening the bt light on the slim gps is flashing as it pairs. then phone says device paired but then the bt light stops flashing on the unit and software says no gps. i have set all the correct baud and com rates. there is no bt light on the unit and no option to connect in my devices?
