Guest WeaponII Posted June 28, 2005 Report Posted June 28, 2005 I'm at a loss for words with this problem. Every so often, the phone has a tendency to freeze up out of the blue for absolutely no reason. Just by opening it sometimes it doesn't respond at all. Not to mention that I also suffer a problem with losing information such as calendar listings, and ringtones. It dumps any excess files that are placed in the /Windows/ directory. Anyone have a solution for this. P.S. If this has been posted before, go ahead and delete.
Guest Disco Stu Posted June 28, 2005 Report Posted June 28, 2005 Welcome to the forum :) Smartphones have a tendency to crash if you let the battery run too low or if you fill the phone's memory up and there is not enough room to run the installed software. The common mistakes are to have multiple homescreens and ringtones saved on the phone or to install software there instead of on the storage card. Another recommendation is to delete your old messages. I read 'em and delete 'em but there are solutions for saving them if you need to. Look for All-Export in Smartphone News for example. Jeyo do some useful apps for transferring messages to your PC. Most importantly, the Windows folder is rewritten by the ROM every time you restart the phone so anything in there will be lost. Put ringtones in \Storage \Application Data \Sounds and background images in \Storage \Application Data \Home.
