music sync software

I use my c500 to listen to music. Currently I have a big collection of MP3s on my PC and I regularly choose about 20 songs to carry on the phone. These have to be converted to WMA for size and then copied across.

What I would really like to do is have all my music on the PC in some kind of file manager that knew about the smartphone and allowed me to choose a bunch of songs to sync across. It would then delete the old ones, recode the new ones and copy them across.

Is there anything that does this? I'm wondering about WMP 10 but of course there's no way of doing this that is sanctioned by Orange.

I'm not aware of anything that meets your requirements (Betaplayer doesn't unfortunately) apart from WMP10 as you said. :roll:

I think the problem is because WMP10 does do exactly what you want, and it's out there for free on a lot of WM2003SE phones, no programmer is going to put the time and effort into making another program that does that.

If it's any (small) consolation, I've been running the leaked UK ROM for a couple of weeks now, and can confirm that WMP10 will do EXACTLY what you want. Just a case of deciding whether to wait for Orange UK to get their fingers out and release it, or get hold of the leaked one now. :)

Sigh.

So this leaked ROM. Does it basically wipe your phone, so you have to reinstall everything? Does it break any of the following:

Mobipocket

Betaplayer (mp3, divx, wma)

TomTom

Can you roll back to the official ROM if things go wrong?
