need help withing syncing my contacts

I am trying to use active sync to sync the contacts on my phone to my computer. But when I do this it gives me this error

Items of one or more information types can not be syncornized. Disconnect and reconnect your device.

To view all error messages and dialogue boxes that require your input, you must connect this to a computer via infa red port or usb.

Anyone have any suggestions on how i can fix this. I need to sync my contacts because my audiovox replacement is coming today.

Im wondering if there is a way to just explore my device and get my contacts off that way. I Don't think its syncing with my contacts list, as inbox is the only item that has a check mark by it in the options of active sync

You should check contacts option and I think there are options for notes and tasks as well. Did you do a custom install when you loaded activesync. Just do the full install and everything should be setup. You should just have to hit ok and next a couple of times and then plug in the phone. The setup file will do everything it needs to sync it up.

i belive I did do a custom install, because i didnt want to install outlook since I already had express. I will try and reinstall the software this time and let it do it manually.
