Guest RonV42 Posted June 30, 2005 Report Posted June 30, 2005 I've searched this form and can't seem to find an answer to this issue. I coped the default .XML file from the "Home" directory using file manager to the "My Documentents" folder with intentions of copying it my PC for editing. This file had the attributes of read only and system set. After the copy I tried to download to the PC and got the "Access Denined" message. I was able to clear the read only flag but you can't clear the system flag. Also I tried to delete the file I just copied from the "My Documents" folder using both the PC and the File Manager and they both give the "Acess Denined" message. How can I get rid of this copied file? Thanks
Guest Confused Stu Posted June 30, 2005 Report Posted June 30, 2005 Hmmmm.... Doesn't sound good. Are you using SmartExplorer (or something like it) or the phone's built in explorer? Only asking because I've found the built in explorer can move things that SmartExplorer can't - for example the standard items in the Storage/Windows/Start Menu folder. If the standard file manager won't do it then I'm out of ideas I'm afraid!

Another thing to try is to change the file extension to something else like .jpg then reboot the phone and try to copy it again.
Guest RonV42 Posted July 1, 2005 Report Posted July 1, 2005 I am using the standard file manager and also exploring via activesync. Like I said I was able to copy the file from the \Storage\Application Data\Home directory to the \Storage\My Documents\Download directory which I created. The copy of the XML file is marked with a "System" property wich I beleive was inherited from the original. If there was some way to clear the "System" property I think I could download or delete the file from my phone. Thanks for the reply... Hmmmm.... Doesn't sound good.
