I don't know how long this has been happening, but recently I walked into a shop, pulled out my headphones, and could still hear my music blasting away. Closer inspection revealed that the sound was coming out of the speaker of the phone as well as the headphones.

All of a sudden, I feel like an arsehole, sitting on a train. I have to tuck my phone into a pocket, because I don't want everyone to have to listen to my music.

At the moment, I'm coping with having the volume on the player set to quiet, and the volume on the headphones cranked up to full, but this is deafening as soon as I answer a call, so it's not ideal.

I'm using a C500 and Media Player 9. Is there any way I can disable this output while the headphones are in? Or is there another player (free?) that I can get that is more bystander-friendly?

I once had the same problem where the audio was coming out of the headphones and speaker at the same time and I resolved it by doing a hard reset. Luckily it never occured again :)

I can't remember seeing any other fix for it but maybe someone else knows.

Aaaaaaaand.... just to check. A hard reset won't format my mini-SD card, right?

What should I backup? *goes to read hard reset sticky*
