odd behaviour o2 xda2

I have an o2 xda 2, and its been working pretty much as it should up until two nights ago where it just began frequently restoring itself to factory settings, and im not sure sure why.

Any ideas on how I can remedy this one guys?

Have you checked the battery condition including the backup battery?

Also there may be a rogue application that has caused a corruption in the registry

yea, the batteries seem to be fine, they go down about as fast as i would expect them to, although that problem seems to have remedied itself (touch wood), now however its in its cradle but it doesnt seem to be charging, just flashes a red light. and wont switch on.
